ದೂರ ತೀರಕೆ ನಿನ್ನನು
ಯಾವ ಬೃಂದಾವನವು ಸೆಳೆಯಿತು
ನಿನ್ನ ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ಕಣ್ಣನು

ಹೂವು ಹಾಸಿಗೆ ಚಂದ್ರ ಚಂದನ
ಬಾಹು ಬಂಧನ ಚುಂಬನ
ಬಯಕೆ ತೋಟದ ಬೇಲಿಯೊಳಗೆ
ಕರಣ ಗಣದೀ ರಿಂಗನ

ಸಪ್ತ ಸಾಗರದಾಚೆ ಎಲ್ಲೊ
ಸುಪ್ತ ಸಾಗರ ಕಾದಿದೆ
ಮೊಳೆಯ ದಲೆಗಳ ಮೂಕ ಮರ್ಮರ
ಇಂದು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೂ ಹಾಯಿತೆ?

ವಿವಶವಾಯಿತು ಪ್ರಾಣ - ಹಾ!!
ಪರವಶವು ನಿನ್ನೀ ಚೇತನ
ಇರುವುದೆಲ್ಲವ ಬಿಟ್ಟು
ಇರದುದರೆಡೆಗೆ ತುಡಿವುದೇ ಜೀವನ

ಯಾವ ಮೋಹನ ಮುರಳಿ ಕರೆಯಿತು
ಇದ್ದಕಿದ್ದಲೇ ನಿನ್ನನು
ಯಾವ ಬೃಂದಾವನವು ಚಾಚಿತು
ತನ್ನ ಮಿಂಚಿನ ಕಯ್ಯನು

ಯಾವ ಮೋಹನ ಮುರಳಿ ಕರೆಯಿತು
ದೂರ ತೀರಕೆ ನಿನ್ನನು

Translation:

What mesmerizing flute was it that called

You to a distant shore?

What paradise was it that attracted

Your dusty eyes?

A bed of flowers with the scent of a sandal paste

The kiss of a shoulder of relationship

In the garden of worldly desires

A harmonious sound is ringing in the ears

Somewhere beyond the seven seas

A hidden sea awaits

Silent murmur of knee-deep waves

Did it reach here too today?

This life became senseless

Your soul got engrossed

To leave behind whatever you have

And to yearn for what you don't, is life!!

What mesmerizing flute was it that called

You all of a suden?

What paradise was it that extended

It's radiant hand?
